Offering studio/ press time rentals, private lessons, and editioning services.
Located on a wharf in the Beacon Marine Basin building in Gloucester, MA, my printmaking studio is a comfortable, scenic, and unsual place to work, and I offer both studio rentals and private lessons. Along with my friend and fellow artist Mary Rhinelander, I co-own an American French Tool press with a 30" x 52" bed, which I purchased in 2011. The shop is well equipped with a variety of soaking trays, a vertical etching tank with Ferric Chloride, several large hot plates, and a selection of brayers and other supplies.
Rates are the lowest you'll find anywhere - starting around $125/month, printmakers of some experience are generally allowed a full day of private work each week. Students normally work with me on a weekly basis, but other arrangements can be worked out as well.
In addition to studio rentals and instruction, I also offer editioning services for printmakers working in both relief and intaglio. I have extensive experience printing for artists including Don Gorvett and Sidney Hurwitz, among others, and of course have printed my own etchings and woodcuts for years now. Services include grounding and biting plates as well, with the capabilities and supplies to etch both copper and zinc. Rates are determined on a case-by-case basis but are extremely reasonable.
